原标题：视听导览|关于天才画家Joan的北京首展，我们做了一份全方位的导览！扩展阅读：雅昌艺术网关于“以冒用\'雅昌\'名义骗取艺术品等犯罪行为”的声明▲JoanCornellà北京个展现场西班牙天才漫画家及插画家JoanCornellà的首次北京个展马上进入了尾声，艺术看展在展览快要结束之际，专访了本次展览的策展人ChristopherPinMcElroy，并推出了这次展览的独家视频，让我们更加全面立体的了解Joan和他的艺术。即使展览结束了，没有亲临展览现场的小伙伴，依然可以通过这次专访视频近距离的感受展览的精彩之处，不留遗憾！▲专访策展人Christopher艺术看展独家出品温馨提示：看展君全程全英对谈，观看时请竖起耳朵，可以顺便补习下英文M：(看展君)朱筱珏Michelle现就读于美国范德堡大学(VanderbiltUniversity),艺术史及德语和德国研究双专业，2017年夏赴德国柏林自由大学交换，独自在欧洲背包旅行9个国家，对欧洲的艺术和当地文化有了更深入的了解。2019年春季将前往奥地利的维也纳大学进行为期半年的交换。C：策展人ChristopherPinMcElroy来自西班牙巴伦西亚，是FactotumProductions创始人，公司致力于推广当代流行艺术和音乐。通过数百场展览和活动将众多流行艺术带入世界观众的视野。以下为视频文本内容：看展君XChristopherM:HiMr.McElroy,sotodayit’sapleasuretotalktoyouabouttheexhibitionofJoanCornellàhereinBeijing.Sofirst,couldyoubrieflygiveusanintroductionoftheexhibitioningeneral?McElroy先生你好，今天很荣幸能够和你一起探讨JoanCornellà在北京的个展。那么你可以先给我们大致介绍一下这次的展览吗？C:Well,there’savarietyofdifferentpaintingsandasculpture,andavarietyofdifferentsizes.There’rearoundfivedifferentsizes.Thereisarepresentationofhismosticonicimageslike“FreeHugs”,andtheselfieculture,somethinghereallyinvestigatesin.IthinkinmanywaysChinamightbeattractedtoit,becauseweliveinaworldofselfie,andtheuseofmobilephonesissoimportant.Hetoucheson]somanyissueslikeracism,poverty,selfie,amputation,therelationshipwehavewithsignsalso.Heusesalsopeoplewhoarecrippled,orhavebeenamputated,andtriestomakefunofitinsomewaywhichisabitedgy.ButIguessthat’sjustabitaboutallhispresentandpreviousworks.此次展出的有一系列不同尺寸的画作还有一件雕塑。尺寸大概分为5种。他最具代表性的元素有“自由拥抱”，以及他花了很多功夫研究的自拍文化。我觉得从很多方面来看，他的作品在中国都会很受欢迎，因为我们生活在一个无处不自拍的世界，手机也成了生活中很重要的一部分。此外，Joan也很关注种族主义、自拍、截肢等问题，以及我们和“标签化”事物的关系。以一种另类的的方式把残疾人和被截肢的人“调侃”了一翻。这些就是他所有作品的一些特点。M:Awesome.SowhataboutJoanCornellàasanartistthatintriguesyou?Whatmakeshimspecialandapartfromothercartoonists?好的，非常赞！那你觉得JoanCornellà作为艺术家最吸引你的是什么呢？是什么使他与其他漫画家不同？C:Well,Ithinkthat’swhymostofthepeoplecomehere.Thiscontrastbetweentheverydeep,impactful,socialmeaning,thingsthatwearenormallyoffendedby,orgenerallywedon’tspeakaboutitopenly,orevenifweseeit,it’shiddenfromsociety.Soheusestheseimages,whicharefunny,andatthesametimetheyareverymeaningful.Andthiscontrastbetweenthingsthathelaughsabout,soit’sentertainingandit’smoving,andthought-provoking,andmakesyouthink.Andalsoheusesthesebrightcolors.It’sveryattractiveaesthetically.Itlooksverywellgood,whathedoes.Heusessupersmallpiecesofinformation,likeasmallwrinkleintheface,onthemouth,andthiscanbesomuchmeaning.Ithinkpeoplecomeherebecausetheyhavefun.Manypeoplehavedifferentideas,aboutthemeaningsofthepainter.It’sentertaining,andit’sthought-provoking.Ithinkthat’sthetwocoreideasbehindit.Andaestheticallyit’sbeautiful.我觉得这正是人们来这里参观的原因。事物的反差有着深刻的寓意和社会影响力，但这些却很少能在社会中看到。比如我们被冒犯，或是看到别人被侵犯的话，基本上不会去公开谈论。因此他使用这些有趣又意义丰富的图像来表达这种感觉。对于这种反差，他其实有些嘲笑的意味，作品表现出来就兼具娱乐性和启发性，让人们去思考。色彩明亮也很有美感。他做得真的很棒。像是脸和嘴上的细纹这种极小的信息都能表达很多内容。人们来这里（参观）无非是能够“乐”在其中。不同的观众对艺术家有不同的看法。当然最核心的是人们觉得作品足够有趣、足够发人深省。从美学角度来看，作品也是很漂亮的。M:CouldyouexplainsomeofthemeaningsbehindsomeoftheworksherethatyouthinkaremostrepresentativeofCornellà’sworkorthatareverysignificanttoyouasacurator?你能否和我们说一下此次展览中最具代表性的作品的背后含义，或者你认为对于策展人而言，什么是最重要的？C:I’vesaidthismanytimes.Themeaningofhispaintingisintheeyeofthepersonwhoseesit.Duringallthesetwoyearsofhavingbeenworkingwithhim,I’vehadthechancetobeclosetopeoplewhoaretryingtounderstand,ortryingtoconveyameaning,orhaveameaning,andseethemeaningbehindit.Thethingsyouheararesodifferentandvaried.SosometimesItellthistoJoan,Iheardthesepeoplesayingthat,thisisthemeaningbehindthispainting,andthiscouldalsobeit.Healwayssayswhenhestartedtodraw,hehasanideaabout,aninitialidea,butthepaintinghasatwistandendsupdoingsomethingtotallydifferent.SoIguesstherearemanymeanings.Iguessmostoftheseones,maybetheselfie,youknowthe“SelfieGun”,whichisnothere,Ithinkthere’sevenviolenceinthissituationoftheselfieculture.Andpeople,eventhatJoan,andhisworkiscriticizingselfieculture,peoplecomehere,anddoselfieswiththepainting.Soit’sliketheyaresabotagingtheownmeaningofthepainting.Theotherdaywewerewiththestaffhere,andIthink,wealwaysaskourselves,“WhyJoanissofamous?WhatisattractivetoAsianpeople.Andonegirl,she’sworking,shesays,yoursurrealismsarereality.Forinstance,thisgirl,Ithinkitwasquitesomeweeksago,thisgirlwasgoingtocommitsuicidefromabuilding,shewasgoingtojump.Beforeshejumps,shemadefourselfiesforherself.Andshejumpedandshekilledherself.Andshepostedthoseselfiesonthesocialmedia.我提到过很多次，画的意义由看展人说了算。在和Joan合作的两年间，我曾和很多人近距离接触过，有人试着去理解或传达一个理念，有人则可以构思出一个概念并看到它背后的含义。大家说的各有千秋，所以有时我和Joan说，人们说的这些就是作品背后的含义，也可以当作是作品的意义。他常和我说，在作画时，一般有个初始的概念，但在画的过程中会经历一些“波澜”，最后呈现出的作品就会完全不同。所以我想（一个作品）会有很多含义。这些作品中的很多内容，拿自拍来说，自拍枪这幅画（没有在这里展出）就暗含暴力元素。Joan和他的作品都在批判自拍文化，人们来这儿看展和画自拍，似乎影响了画的本质。前几天我和画廊的工作人员聊天，我们互问对方，“Joan为什么这么有名？亚洲人对什么感兴趣？”一个在这里工作的女孩说到，超现实主义就是现实。举个例子，好几个星期以前，这个女孩打算跳楼自杀，在跳之前，拍了4张自拍，然后纵身一跃自杀了。她把这些自拍发到社交软件上。M:Thethemesofsomeofhisworksarereallydark,andtheytouchuponalotofsocialtaboos,sowhileplanningtheexhibitioninBeijing,haveyouencounteredanydifficulties?Isthechoiceoftheworksherelocation-specific?他的不少作品都是暗黑的主题，触到了很多社会禁忌，那么于你而言，在策划北京的个展时，有遇到哪些问题吗？在这里展出的作品的选择是否考量了北京当地文化的因素？C:Ithinkoneofthegoodthingsofhiswork,it’sneat,itdoesn\'thavelanguage,anditattracts.Imean,everybodycanfeel,anysociety,we’vebeentomanyplacesinEurope,ortheUnitedStates,andeverybodyunderstandsthiswork,becauseitrelatestous.Evengames,gamesthatyoudowhenyou’reakid.Thesegameshavebeenplayedbykidsallaroundtheworld.SoIguessthat’soneofthegoodthings,thatdoesn\'tmatterwhereyougo...andtoanswerthisquestion,location-specific,hisworkattractsdoesn\'tmatterwhereitgoes,it’sunderstoodbyanysocietyaroundtheworld.Imean,ofcoursewehavetogothroughalongprocessoftheseartworksbeingapproved.Hisworkis,youcouldsay,polemic,isedgy,isnotlike...Imean,there’resomeofhisworks,theyarequitebrutal,wecouldsay.That’swhywedon\'tallowunder16tocomein,becauseofthesescenesofviolence.Eventhere’slikeafunnyparttoit,thescenesofviolence,explicitsex,ormanyotherthings.Buttobesaid,wedidencountersomekindofproblemstopassthroughmanyoftheartworkswewantedtoexhibithere.Butontheoverall,we’requitehappybecausealotgotthrough.Ithinkit’saverygoodrepresentationofhisworks.作品其中的一个好处就是简单，不需要任何语言就能吸引人。我们去过欧洲的很多国家，也去过美国，任何社会中的任何人都能理解他的作品，因为它和我们息息相关。就像你儿时玩的游戏，也是适用于全世界的孩子的。所以这就是他的作品的一个好处，与你在哪里无关。现在回答第二个这个问题。他的作品受欢迎不在于去了哪里办展，而是可以被任何社会接纳。当然，为了成功设展，我们也费了不少力气。你可以说他的作品是有争议的、让人心里发毛的，甚至可以说一些内容是暴力、残忍的，因此我们不让16岁以下的人来。其中可能有诙谐幽默的元素，但是暴力、性暗示和其他内容也依旧存在。实话说吧，在运输作品的过程中，我们确实遇到了各种问题，但总体来看，结果还是好的，毕竟大部分都顺利解决了。我觉得这是一个很好的机会来展现他的作品。M:Soyouknow,JoanCornellà,hisstyleisveryiconicwiththegenericbigsmileandbrightcolors,sowhatdoyouthinkaretheinfluencesforhisstyleasanartist?你知道的，JoanCornellà的风格就是那张典型的笑脸和明亮的颜色，你认为他的风格受到了哪些影响？C:Healwayssaid,hesaidinaninterview...Whatwasthenameofthismusician...AphexTwin.AphexTwinisanelectronicmusicianfromtheUK,andoneofhiscorealbumswasthisblanksmile,likeaJoker.TheJokerhasthissmilethathasnomeaning.It’slike,it’sunsettling,it’sdisquieting,youseeit,andyoudon\'tfeelcomfortablewithit.Andhischaractersdothis,theydohorribleandterriblethings,butstill,theyhavethissmile,likeapsychoticclown,likeAphexTwinhasthiscoveralbum[albumcover].It’salsosaidinthebiography,theadvertisementsintheUnitedStatesfromthe50s,Imeanlike...“Hereiswashingpowder!”“Herewego!”LikeahappyUnitedStatesfamilyfromtheUnitedStates,“Buyourproducts!”It’slikeblank,onlytosellyouaproduct.There’snorealfeelingsbehindit.It’sjustanironic,sarcastic,insomewaycouldbe,frighteningsmile,becauseit’semptyandvoidofanyfeelings.他曾在一次采访中说...有个音乐家的名字是什么来着...对了AphexTwin，AphexTwin是一位来自英国的电子音乐家，经典专辑中有一个就是黑色幽默的笑脸，像小丑一样。小丑的笑没有任何含义，但在看的时候，会让你心绪不宁，感到不舒服。Joan作品中的角色亦是如此，做着令人害怕恐惧的事，却一直挂着那副笑脸，像一个患了精神病的小丑似的，和AphexTwin的专辑封面也很像。传记中提到美国50年代的广告词，我指的是“洗衣粉在那儿”“我们过去看看”之类的，像是快乐美国人的快乐生活。“买我们的商品吧”也不过是一句空话，只是让你买他们的东西，此外没什么真情实感。从某种程度上来说，没任何含义又空洞的笑就是让人害怕，就是很讽刺。C:ImeanIamveryhappy.That’sbecausemanypeoplearecomingofcourse.ButIthinkthepeoplelikeit.Ithinkwetrytocreateanexperience.We\'resellingthem,ofcoursewearetryingtosellmerchandise,butmanypeoplecomehere,mostofthepeopledon\'tbuypaintingordon\'tbuymerchandise.Buttheycomehereforanexperience.Sincetheycomeintothedoor,wetrytotakethemthroughsomeliteraljourneyaround,andpeoplearehappy.Iseethepeoplesmiling.Whenyougotoamuseum,peoplearelike...Imyself,Igotomuseums...Yougotomuseums,peopleare...Contemporaryartisquitelike...toodifficulttounderstand.Ithinkpeopledon\'tfeelveryrelatedtoit.ButIthinkhereit’ssomethingthatmakesthisacommunion.Whenyougetalaugh,orasmile,there’sareactiontotheartworkitself.SoIthinkinthissense,theturnout,intermsofnumbers,isgood.ButIthinktheexperiencetheygetoutismoreimportant.我其实很开心，很多人来是一方面，但我认为人们还是喜欢作品本身。我们尝试去创造一种体验式的感觉。我们卖这种体验形式，当然我们也卖衍生品。但来这里的很多人既不买画也不买衍生品，只是为了体验。从他们踏进门的那一刻起，我们就让观众体验一场“文化”旅行，他们也会很开心。人们会发自内心地笑。去博物馆逛的时候，人们就...我也去博物馆逛...当代艺术其实很难理解。我觉得人们并不能很好地和当代艺术产生交集，但却能创造出一种交流的空间。微笑或大笑都是一种和艺术品互动的表现。所以从这点来看，数量的结果是好的。但我想，他们的体验更为重要。关于Joan的作品works1.C:Somaybewecanseethiscontrastinbetweenwhatdoyouthinkitmeans,andwhatdoIthinkitmeans.我们也许可以看看它对你的含义和对我的含义有什么不同的地方。M:Iguessoneofthecommentshemadeinthisspecificworkis,obviously,drugs,andthisguy,thewhitethingonhisshoulder,mightlooklikedandruff.Thegrandma-lookingperson,sheputssomethinginhernose,andsucksonthethingonhisshoulder,andshe’sbleedingfromhernose.Soit’sareferencetocoke.我觉得可以很明显的看出，这幅画涉及了毒品的问题。这个男人肩膀上的白色的东西，看起来像头皮屑。这个老妇人用她放入她鼻孔的东西吸入这白色的粉末。然后，她的鼻子流血了。所以这粉末也许是可卡因。C:Butdoesitmakessense?No?Becausedandruffisnotreallycoke.But,Imean,doesitmakessensethatshe’sbleedingfromhernose,when,actually,whatshe’ssniffingisdandruff.Butthat’swheretheabsurdityisat.Youmatchitverywell.Anordinarywoman,andhehasthispollen,thisstainofdandruff,andthiswomancomesup,andmakes...takes...evenpayshimforit,tomakeuseofthispollen,wesay,likehairdandruff.It’sabsurd,becausefirstofall,she’sanordinarywoman,normallytheydon\'tdothiskindofthings.It’sfake,it’snotthereality.It’snotthatsubstance,youknow,it’snotdrugs.Andshebleeds,soit’slikeaplaceboorsomething,becauseit’snotreallysomething.It’sabsurd,itdoesn\'t[makesense].但是这合乎常理吗？因为头皮屑并不是可卡因。因为她吸食的是头皮屑，所以她从鼻子流血并不合乎常理。但是这就是这幅画的荒谬所在。你说的对。画中有一个普通女人，男人的肩膀上有一些头皮屑，然后这个女人上前，为了吸食男子肩膀上的白色粉末还给了他钱。但是这粉末其实是头皮屑。这很荒谬，因为首先，她看起来是一个普通妇女，一般这种人是不会做这种事的。这幅画是假的，并不是现实。白色粉末不是违禁药物，不是毒品。但是她却因此流血，这可以算是一种安慰剂效应，因为粉末没有任何效应。这件作品荒谬，不合常理。works2.M:Ithinkthisoneisaboutthiswoman,sheistryingtobegformoneyfromthisguy,butinsteadof...butshehastwokids,andtheyarecryingforhelp.Andthisguy,insteadofgivinghermoney,hetookacoinfromhercup,andbroughtacondomfromavendingmachine,andgavethecondomtothewoman.Soshe...Iguessit’slikecommentingonhow...ifshehadfewerchildren,shewouldn\'tneedtobegforhelpanymore.我觉得这幅画表现的应该是：这个女人想要向这个男人讨钱，她有两个孩子，这两个孩子都在哭，像是在寻求帮助。这个男人没有给她钱，而是从她的杯子里拿了一个硬币，从自动贩售机中买了一个避孕套，然后把避孕套给了乞讨的女人。我觉得作者想表达的是，如果这个女人没有这么多孩子，她就不用乞讨了。C:Yea,absolutely.That’sthemeaning.Thiswomanshe’sinthesituationofpoverty,andthiswell-dressed,likeinatie,abusinessmancomesup.Andinsteadofhelpingher,givinghermoney,thesolutionis,ok,theproblemisthatyou’rehavingtoomuchsex,you’rehavingtoomanykids.That’syourproblemthough.SoI’mgoingtobuyacondom,sonexttimeyou...That’sthesolution.Justdon\'thavesex,andthat’sit.That’sthemeaning.对，没错。这就是这幅画的含义。这个女人很贫穷。这个穿着体面、打着领带的商人走向她。但是他没有给她钱。他认为，这个问题有别的解决方法。他认为问题是，她因为私生活不节制，生下了太多的孩子。但是那是她自己的问题。所以他认为避孕套才是更好的解决问题的方式。她需要注意保护措施。这是你理解的这幅画的含义，我相信很多其他人也会这样理解。这就是这幅画的含义。works3.M:WellIguessyoucansaythisiskindofcommentingonthefactthateverysingleimageyouthinkissomething,butthenextone,itchangesandrevealshowitreallyis.Iguesseventually,ifyoucomparethelastimageandthefirstimage,theylookdrasticallydifferent.我觉得这幅画应该是在说，一些图像，你对它有一种初步理解，但是它可能很快就会改变，展现出它真正的面目。如果对比这幅画的第一格和最后一格，我们能看出他们完全是不同的东西。C:It’sjustavisualgame.Youseethispainting,anditmakesyouthink.Youknow,likewhatisgoingtobethenextsurprise.Thisdogperson,andit\'sjustaplay.Thesurprise,thedifferenttwistsittakes.Thedogandtheperson,attheend,youknow,it’sadogperson.Forme,what’ssurprising,isthebreast,because,thedoghasbreast.Maybetheothermeaningsaremuchclearer,butthisoneismorelike...Ithinkthemeaningisthevisualtwist,thevisualgame,theself-experienceofwhatitlooksatattheend.这只是一个视觉游戏。你看到这幅画，它会让你思考，下一个惊喜是什么。这个狗人只是一个作者开的玩笑。画中的惊喜存在无数转折。画里一开始有狗和人，但最后你会发现这是一个狗人。对我来说最令人惊讶的是狗人的胸部，这是不和常理的。也许其他作品含义更清晰，但我认为这幅作品的意义是视觉扭曲，视觉游戏，是一种期待最终结果是什么的自我体验。works4.M:SoIthinkit’sthisguyproposingtomaybehisgirlfriend,andthenshewasreallyexcitedafterhisproposal,and“she”hadanerection.Andtheguyisobviouslyjustconfused.我觉得是这个男人正在和他的女朋友求婚，她对求婚感到非常激动，有了生理反应。这个男人却因此看起来非常迷惑。C:Theguywaslookingforafemale.Itseemsbecausethislastphaseofitwasgivingaringofproposalandall.Ifellinlove,orwhatever.Andsurprise,surprise.Thereisasurpriseofthesexualityofthe...whohethoughtwasawoman,butisamanattheend.ButIthinkactually,oneofthethingsthatmanypeoplefeeloffendedbythesekindsofthings,transvestiteortransgender,cametothisexhibitioninSingapore,andsaidtoJoan,shereally,shefeltsuperwellaboutthis.Insomewaysthishelpedhernaturalizeherchangeofsexuality.Sothisisoneofthethingsthatabouthiswork,it’sthattheoneswhoareoffendedarealwayswhitepeople,malewhitepeople.Blackpeople,transvestites,minoritiesneverfeeloffendedbyit.It’saboutwhentheysayit\'s“politicallycorrect”,it’sjustbecausetheyhavethispoliticalcorrectness,andhowitshouldbe,andthat’sit.这个男人想找一个女人。然而最后一步是给她一个戒指然后求婚。他觉得自己坠入了爱河。然后意想不到的事发生了。这个“女人”的性别和这个人期待的并不一样，“她”其实是一个男人。但是我觉得，事实上很多我觉得应该会被这幅画冒犯的群体，比如说异装癖者或变性人，有一个人来到了我们在新加坡的展览。她对Joan说她非常喜欢这幅画。她觉得这幅画在某种程度上帮助了她变性后的自我认知。Joan作品的一个特点是，其实经常受到Joan作品冒犯的是白人，白人男性。黑人，异装癖者，还有少数族裔从来没有觉得他们受到冒犯。当人们说道觉得作品应该“政治正确”，那是因为他们有一种政治正确的概念，然后用这种概念来界定作品应该是什么样的。我觉得这就是关于这幅画我想说的。works5.M:Thisblackguyisrunningforamarathon,probably.Andthispolice-lookingguyheshottheguywho’srunning,andhefinishedthemarathon,probably,byhimself,andheendedupwinningthechampionship.AndIguessitmightbecommentingon,Iguess,thepoliceviolencethat’sbeenhappeningbasedonracism,becauseeveryonewho’scelebratingwiththeguyiswhite.这个黑人应该在跑马拉松。这个警察射杀了这个正在跑马拉松的人，然后自己跑完了马拉松，赢得了冠军。我认为这幅画应该是作者对现在经常发生的基于种族歧视的警察暴力的评论。最后和警察一起庆祝的人清一色都是白人。C:Iguessithasbeenexplicitaboutthe(policebrutality),maybetheclosestplacewouldbetheUnitedStates,whereit’ssuchabigthing.Butactually,youknowwhenthisexhibitionwasinLosAngeles,oneofthesingersofupperCompton,youknowthedistrictofCompton,therearetheserappers,theyareapartofDr.Dre,hedesignedBeats.Andthisguy,thisrapperthatwasgrowingup...IthinkKendrickLamarisfromCompton...hecame,andhebought,notthisone,butonethat’scalled“GangstaGrandma”,whichisthesamekindofsituation.AndIthinkthepaintingspeaksaboutthat,liketheinequalitybetweenraces,inafunnyway.Thispolicemankillinghimandtakingoutthecreditoutofhim,because,unfortunately,forthewhites,coloredpeoplearealwaysbetteratsports.It’stheonlywaytomakethemfeelrightisbykillingthemIassume.YeaIthinkthisonespeaksaboutracism.我想这幅画说的就是警察暴力。也许现在与警察暴力最相关的就是美国了，这是那里现在的社会热点。但是实际上，当我们在洛杉矶办展览的时候，一个康普顿上城的歌手，你知道康普顿区吧，那里有很多说唱歌手，设计了Beats耳机的Dr.Dre就是其中的一员。这个说唱歌手在康普顿长大...我记得KendrickLamar也是康普顿人...这个人来了，然后他买了一幅叫做“歹徒奶奶”的作品。那件作品描绘了一个相似的场景。我觉得这件作品用一种幽默的方式表达了种族间的不平党。这位警察杀了这个黑人，并从他身上抢走了功劳。因为不幸的是，对于白人来说有色人种总是更善于运动。这幅画中他们对待黑人的方式表现的就是他们的这种心态。是的，我认为这幅画讲的是种族主义。更多好看的展责任编辑：
